Job Summary:

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy.  Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

Adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach in Theatre. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives. Participate in student assessment initiatives within the program and college, and implement the determinations of those initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications:

MFA or MA in Theatre Directing, Design or Performance, or closely related field (from a regionally accredited college or university).

Is competent to teach in two or more of the following areas:
• Scenic/Lighting Design (Season design opportunities available)
• Stage Combat/Movement
• Acting/Directing
• Theatre History/Play Analysis
• Shakespeare

Alternative Required Qualifications:
BFA or BA in Theatre Directing, Design or Performance, or closely related field (from a regionally accredited college or university), with five years’ experience at a professional, college/university or conservatory level.

Is competent to teach in two or more of the following areas:
• Scenic/Lighting Design (Season design opportunities available)
• Stage Combat/Movement
• Acting/Directing
• Theatre History/Play Analysis
• Shakespeare

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching at a college level (may include graduate teaching assistant). Ability to teach courses in person and online in an asynchronous and synchronous modality; or willingness to become certified to teach online courses.
